Dykes

A wide variety of geosynthetics to contribute to the stability of dykes and embankments

Erosion is a risk when dykes are under regular attack, while 'piping' may cause serious damage during high water. Geotextiles can be used for soil stability while 3D erosion prevention mats can be installed above water level.

Enka-Tex placed as vertical screen forms a filter layer to avoid piping. Enkamat erosion control mats prevent erosion of the embankment. Enka-Fix with precast concrete blocks, or Enka-Mattress, withstand heavy wave attacks.

Dykes can fail through loss of overall stability, loss of foundation stability, or bearing capacity failure. Horizontal base layers prevent extremely soft silt layers from being squeezed out, and contribute to overall stability against sliding and skip circles.
